About the Journal
Title
The Journal for Assessment and Research Education in the Natural and Social Sciences or JARENS is an ONLINE, peer-reviewed international journal, that was launched on December 22, 2025, during the 1st ELARE General Assembly and National Convention.
Aims and Scope
The JARENS accepts original articles, review articles, short communication, and policy note on assessment in various fields and research education in multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral, or the integration of both assessment and research education. Further, the JARENS accepts excerpts of theses and dissertations since these are products of the researcher's years of study of research (i.e. research education). Furthermore, the JARENS accepts research tools developed for quality learning on learning assessment principles and methods and all areas of research education. This Journal addresses the SDG No 4 on Quality Education.
Peer Review Policy
The JARENS implements a double-blind review policy. The number of days from submission to first decision is 20 days, but the number of days from first decision to publication shall vary from 2 to 3 months.
Frequency
The JARENS is published biannually. The first publication date was January 30, 2025 with 5 inaugural papers. For 2026, it will be published for a June and December issue, each with a maximum of 30 papers.

The JARENS is published by the Educators for Learning Assessment and Research Education (ELARE), Inc, a duly registered non-profit professional society in the Philippines to the Securities and Exchange Commission with SEC No. 2025-010182229-01. The address of the publisher is in PSU Urdaneta City, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines.
